Privacy Policy
Introduction
Muvri (“us,” “our” or “we”) recognizes the importance of privacy. We respect your desire to store and access your information in a private and secure manner. This Policy explains how we handle your Personal Information, which is data that could be used to identify you, and the activity and health data you record or connect to your account. Because Muvri records where you go, that includes location data, and a section below is devoted to it.
This Privacy Policy governs the way in which we collect, use, maintain, and disclose information collected from users of our websites. These websites may include but are not limited to www.muvri.com, and any other website or mobile software application owned or operated by Muvri (the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy applies to the Platform and all products and services (collectively, the “Services”) offered by us. We are committed to providing you a secure, user-controlled Platform. At the same time, you share responsibility for maintaining privacy and security. For example, we ask you to keep your password secure. Do not share it with any third parties. We urge you to read this Privacy Policy carefully.
The Policy applies to all new and existing Muvri users. To use the Muvri Services, you must agree to the Privacy Policy. You may not use the Services if you do not agree to the Privacy Policy because it is part of the Terms of Service (“Terms”). Any capitalized terms not defined in the Privacy Policy have the same meaning as those in the Terms.
Our Terms of Service explains that, by using our Platform and signing up for the Services, you are allowing us to collect, use and process your Personal Information according to the Terms and this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about this Policy, please contact us at support@muvri.com. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Platform or Services.
By giving us Personal Information, or by connecting a service that sends us your activities, you are consenting to our use of it in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You also agree that it may be transferred to and stored on servers operated by Muvri and the providers we authorize, which are located in the United States.
Privacy Principles
- We do not collect any more Personal Information about you than we need.
- We only use your Personal Information for the purposes we specify in this Privacy Policy, unless you agree otherwise.
- Other than as we specify in this Privacy Policy, we do not share your Personal Information with third parties.
Information we collect
Account information. Your name, email address and password when you create an account. Optionally a profile photo, date of birth, gender, height and weight, which are used to calculate training metrics such as heart rate zones and calorie estimates.
Activities. Everything that makes up a recorded activity: its type, start time, duration, distance, pace, elevation, laps and splits, and any title, notes or photos you add. Activities you upload from a file, or import from a service you have connected, are treated the same way.
Location
Muvri records where you go, because that is what an activity is.
Precise location. While you are recording an activity, the app collects GPS coordinates, elevation and timestamps, typically once per second. Together these form the route: its map, its distance, its pace and its elevation profile.
Location in the background. Recording continues while the app is in the background and while your phone is locked. This is the ordinary case rather than an exception — a run or a ride lasts hours, and nobody holds a phone awake for one. Collection begins only when you start a recording and stops when you stop it. The app does not collect your location at any other time.
What we store. The full coordinate track is kept with the activity, so that maps, segments, personal records and comparisons with your previous efforts keep working.
Who can see it. Your activities are visible according to the privacy setting on each activity and on your account. A route may be visible to people who follow you, or to nobody, depending on those settings.
Turning it off. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings. The app will no longer be able to record activities, which is the whole of what it does, but nothing else about your account changes.
Health and fitness data
With your permission, Muvri reads from Apple Health or Health Connect: heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, steps, weight, body fat, blood oxygen, respiratory rate and active calories. We use these to show your recovery and readiness, and to enrich the activities you record.
Also with your permission, Muvri writes the activities you record back to Apple Health or Health Connect, so they appear alongside the rest of your health history.
We do not use this data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Data from sensors you pair
If you pair a Bluetooth sensor — a heart rate strap, a bike trainer, a rowing machine — the app receives its readings during a recording and stores them with the activity. Pairing is per device and under your control.
Data from services you connect
If you connect Garmin, Strava or Zwift, we import the activities and related data those services make available under the permissions you granted when connecting. Disconnecting stops any further import; activities already imported remain in your account until you delete them. How we handle Garmin data in particular is set out in Garmin data.
Where a service offers no other way to maintain a session, we store your credentials for it encrypted. Where a service supports tokens, we store only tokens.
Technical information
Information about how you reach the Platform: browser or app version, device model, operating system, and log data about requests. If the app stops unexpectedly it may send a diagnostic report containing what it was doing at the time, the app version and the device model. These reports contain no coordinates and no account credentials.
You can always refuse to supply information that we request. If you do, you may not be able to use parts of the Services that depend on it.
Garmin data
This section describes how Muvri collects, uses, processes and stores data it receives from Garmin Connect. It applies only if you connect your Garmin account to Muvri.
What we collect
When you connect, Garmin asks you which data to share with Muvri. We receive only what you allow there:
- Activities (Garmin permission “Activities”): each activity's type, start time, duration, distance, GPS track, elevation, heart rate, cadence, power, speed, laps, the device that recorded it, and the activity file.
- Health data (Garmin permission “Daily Health Stats”), if you share it: daily summaries such as resting heart rate and steps, sleep, heart rate variability, stress, Body Battery, blood oxygen and respiration.
- Your Garmin user identifier and the access tokens Garmin issues to Muvri, so we can match incoming data to your account.
Garmin sends this data to Muvri's own servers when it becomes available. Garmin never sends it to anyone else on our behalf.
What we send to Garmin
If you allow it (Garmin permission “Workout Import”) and choose to send planned workouts to Garmin, we send those workouts to your Garmin Connect calendar. We send nothing to Garmin that you have not asked us to send.
How we use it
- To show your activities and health data to you in Muvri, and to calculate the analysis Muvri provides: pace, grade-adjusted pace, heart rate zones, training load, personal records, segment results, recovery and readiness.
- To merge a Garmin activity with other recordings of the same session, such as one from the Muvri app or Apple Health, so each session appears once.
- To show your activities to other Muvri users, but only as your privacy settings allow. Health data is never shown to anyone but you.
We do not sell Garmin data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models. We do not send Garmin data to any AI service automatically.
Third parties
We do not share Garmin data with third parties for their own purposes. It is processed only by our hosting and storage provider: Amazon Web Services hosts Muvri's servers and database and stores activity files, in the United States. AWS processes the data on our behalf, under contract, and for no other purpose.
Muvri's Garmin credentials are used by Muvri alone and are never given to anyone else.
How we store and protect it
Garmin data is stored with the rest of your account data in Muvri's database and file storage in the United States, encrypted in transit. Garmin access tokens are kept on our servers only and are never shown in the app or the website.
Your choices, and deletion
- Changing what you share. If you switch a permission off in Garmin Connect, Garmin tells us and we stop importing or sending that kind of data from then on.
- Disconnecting. You can disconnect Garmin in Muvri, under Integrations, or remove Muvri in Garmin Connect. Either ends Muvri's access: we deregister from Garmin, and we import nothing further. Data already imported stays in your account until you delete it.
- Deleting. You can delete any activity at any time. Closing your account erases all Garmin data along with everything else, as described in Deleting your data.
How we may use your Personal Information
- To provide the Services. Recording and storing your activities, calculating pace, elevation, training load, personal records and segment results, and showing them back to you.
- To show your activities to the people you choose. According to the privacy settings on your account and on each activity.
- To operate your account. Signing you in and responding when you contact us.
- To send you notifications you have asked for. Comments, kudos, saved activities and training reminders, by email, push notification, or WhatsApp where you have supplied a number and switched them on.
- To improve the Services. Using aggregated, de-identified information about how the Platform is used, and diagnostic reports when something fails.
- As required by law, including notices about changes to this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your Personal Information, and we do not use your activity or health data for advertising.
How we protect your Information
The security of your Personal Information is important to us. We have adopted generally accepted industry standards for our data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your Personal Information, username, password, transaction information, and data stored on the Platform. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however.
Please recognize that protecting your Personal Information is also your responsibility... (passwords, devices, and any information you choose to share with third parties).
Disclosure of your personal data
Third parties that process data for us
- Cloud storage and hosting. Your activity data, including coordinate tracks and photos, is stored on infrastructure we operate using commercial cloud providers.
- Map tiles. Displaying a map requests tiles from a map provider. Those requests necessarily reveal the approximate area being viewed. They do not carry your identity or your account.
- Push notifications. Delivering a notification to your device goes through Apple's and Google's notification services, which receive the message and a device identifier.
- Email delivery. Sending you email goes through an email service provider.
Optional features that send data elsewhere
Two features send data outside our systems. Both are off unless you turn them on, and both can be turned off again at any time.
AI analysis. If you add your own API key for an AI provider (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok), each activity you record is summarised and sent to that provider for comment, if allowed by the provider the activity came from. Activities with data from Garmin are never sent automatically: they are included only if you choose to include them in your AI settings, and you can change that choice at any time. The summary contains measured values only: type, distance, duration, pace, elevation, heart rate, cadence, power, temperature, perceived effort and lap splits. It does not contain your coordinate track, your name, your email address or your account identifier. The provider handles it under their own terms, and usage is billed to your account with them. We store your key encrypted and never display it again after you enter it. Removing the key stops this immediately.
WhatsApp alerts. If you give us a WhatsApp number and switch on one or more alert types, we send messages to that number about activity in your account — comments, kudos, saved activities, AI analysis. We use the number for nothing else. Every alert type is off until you ask for it, and you can remove the number at any time.
Other disclosures
- Legal process. As required by law, or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition or similar transaction.
- With your consent. In any other way you agree to.
Your Rights
Request a Copy. Contact us to request a copy of your Personal Information. We may request proof of identity.
Cease Processing or Delete. Ask us to stop processing or delete your data where applicable.
Withdraw Consent. You may withdraw consent or restrict processing at any time.
Portability. You may request that we transfer your Personal Information to a third party where feasible.
Complaints. EU residents may contact their local data protection authority.
Retention. We retain information as needed to provide services and meet legal obligations.
Unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
Deleting your data
Deleting a single activity. An activity you delete is removed from your account and stops appearing anywhere in the service. We retain a copy, not visible to you or to anyone else, until your account is closed — at which point it is destroyed with everything else.
Closing your account. You can ask for your account to be deleted from inside the app, under Profile, or by emailing support@muvri.com. We will erase your account: your profile, every activity and the GPS route of each one — including the activities you deleted earlier — your photos, personal records, gear, goals, planned sessions, connected accounts and stored credentials. We delete the underlying files as well as the database records.
This is permanent. We keep no backup copy that we could restore afterwards, and we cannot recover an account once it has been erased, so please be certain before you ask.
Some things necessarily survive, and only these: content you contributed that other people now rely on — a route or segment you created that others have since used — remains, with your name removed from it. We also keep records we are legally required to keep, such as billing history.
Third-party websites
Links to third-party sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
Cookies and other tracking technologies
We use cookies and log files to analyze trends and administer the Platform. You can adjust cookie settings in your browser; some features may not function without cookies.
Changes to this privacy policy notice
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be notified on the Platform or via email. Please review periodically.

The Platform and Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. If we learn we collected Personal Information from a child under 18, we will delete it.
